  My family and I visited Sleepy Hollow for ten years straight as I was growing up. I was delighted to return with my family this year. The cottages have all been updated to modern ammenities without taking away from their early 1900's architecture or past cozy appeal. The cottage was perfect for our family of five. Two were in the "children's" bedroom in the twin beds and one slept on the pullout sofa in the "den." (Two could've easily slept on the pullout sofa.) The bedrooms are a little tight, but there are closets and dressers in each as well.) The communal living area is more spacious. Just wish the TV was in that room over the fireplace, as opposed to the smaller den that we were using as a third bedroom. (There is a TV in the master bedroom too.) Two bathrooms and larger counter area in the bathroom with tub is super nice. Bathroom off the master is fancy! The kitchen area was spacious and we appreciated our dishwasher! There was a table that could seat up to 7, as well as a large island with bar stools. The refrigerator was normal sized (not overly small.) I loved the washer/dryer in the basement too. There was even a folding table that I was able to fold clothes on. The beach was a short walk away and we really enjoyed watching the South Haven fireworks from the Sleepy Hollow beach on July 3rd. My kids (ranging from 8-14) felt that the kids activities were too young for them. The gorgeous beach and lake, though were certainly very entertaining too. (We didn't make it to the yoga or tennis sessions. These may have proved a better match.) The drive to downtown South Haven is super short. We also drove to Saugatuck (20 mintues) and Holland (30 minutes) some nights.

  Great experience. Impressively remodeled cottage. My only disappointment is a lack of a TV in each sleeping area or at lease in a central gathering area. The ideal place in cottage 7 is over the fireplace INSTEAD of a useless mirror.

  Very grateful to have been able to stay this year. BUT- Unit 7 was the dirtiest unit I have ever stayed in. I have been a guest for 58 years. There was mold on a shower curtain that had been there for a very long time. The master bath had mold as well. Dirty dishes in the cabinets. I had to go to the office for toilet paper twice in the week, there were no extra rolls in the bathrooms. And housekeeping never dropped off any. There were cobwebs heading down to the basement in the window that were covering it. The overall unit is beautiful. Not sure why it was not clean,we had to wait an extra day to check in for cleaning. Not sure what they used the extra day for. We made it work and enjoyed the week with my extended family who are owners of one of the cottages.
  The new beach embankment will hopefully help the erosion happening due to the lake rising. It was great for our group as we are all adults, very unfriendly for small kids though.

  Very good time . The only complaints are the shower curtain had mold on it, and the lack of beach which I understand is not under your control however the weekly fees for rental are in your control. I have been staying at Sleepy Hollow for 15 yrs and every year there is an increase. The year 2020 should not have an increase in price. Jackie in the office is wonderful.

  We were very disappointed that the beach was washed away and we were not notified ahead of time.
  The mattresses on all the beds were uncomfortable and need to be replaced.

  The cottage was very pretty but the dishwasher leaked, and the toilet kept running on it's own. It would be good to have a TV in the main area because if you use the side room for sleeping then this is a problem.

  Love love love the location and the grounds. The beds were surprisingly very uncomfortable in our unit (squeaky, noisy, felt very worn out). Housekeeping and staff were very accommodating. I would have liked a few more feminine bikes with speeds rather than just cruisers (or we can bring our own next time)
